The Fremantle City Council has backed down to on its endeavour to hold a citizenship ceremony during their "One Day In Fremantle" festival on January 28th. "One Day In Fremantle" is being sold to the public as as an alternative to traditional Australia Day celebrations on January 26th because the regressive left see this day as a time of mourning, not the start of the brilliant country so many are lucky to call home today.

We can thank Assistant Minister for Immigration Alex Hawke for making it quite clear to the Fremantle City Council that their actions would be a breach of the Commonwealth's Citizenship act.

"They must not be used 'Citizenship ceremonies' as forums for political, partisan or religious expression or for the distribution of material which could be perceived to be of a commercial, political or religious nature."

A poll attached to a 9news article on this subject clearly shows the majority do not support the Fremantle City Council's attempted desecration of our national day.
