Call for change to Prohibited Weapons Act to fight Apex crime gang
With youth gangs made up of predominantly Sudanese refugees running rampant on a daily basis, from daylight carjackings to violent home invasions, an already under resourced police force is struggling to protect Melbourne's residents & they have had enough.
Section 1.8 of Victoria Police's current Prohibited Weapons Act prohibits anyone from possessing Capsicum spray or a Tasers, which is sending many Victorians in the direction of sport stores, with baseball bat sales in Melbourne at an all time high.
But what about the elderly, disabled & single women who may not have the strength to effectively use a baseball bat in self defence? An amendment to Victoria's Prohibited Weapons Act could allow capsicum spray & tasers [such as the one above that can be shipped to Australia] to be used in the case of self defence, where the victim is often much physically weaker than the attacker.
