Victoria Police refuse to charge man over petrol attack
VIDEO BELOW Last Wednesday at a busy service station in St Albans [north-west Melbourne] a man of African appearance was caught on CCTV approaching the fuel bowsers & attempting to set them alight while innocent bystanders watched on in horror.
The offender tries & fails to light two separate two fuel pumps with his cigarette lighter before a young tradie thwarts any further efforts. The 30 year old tradie who wishes to stay anonymous, can be seen bravely grabbing a fire extinguisher & spraying the offender with fire retardant foam, chasing him away form the service station. This anonymous tradie put his life at risk to only save innocent bystanders but also the offender himself, if you read this mate get in contact with the page you deserve a beer.
In an interview with Channel 7 the young tradie makes it obvious he feels that his actions may have been in vain as he explains how he attempted to report this crime at not one, not two, but threee different police stations before his statement was even taken. The first two police stations claimed to be too short staffed to take the young tradie's statement & the third told him that the offence would not be pursued because "no-one was injured".
Australian Crimes Act of 1958 Section 198 is all that the Police prosecution team would need to have this danger to society pulled from our streets yet the fail to enforce the law, why? Hey at least we have double demerits & highway patrol to keep Victoria safe.
