Catholic church knew of 4,444 child sex abuse cases in Australia
The Royal commission into child sex abuse within the Catholic church has today revealed just how far spread the problem of pedophilia is within the church, when for the first time ever they have revealed their own records on the disgusting problem that has plagued their institution for decades. 4,444 cases of child sexual abuse reported to 93 seperate officials within the Catholic church, with the average age of victims falling between 10-11 years old.
The sickening records show that from 1950 until 2010 there has been 1265 Catholic priests and religious leaders that have been accused of sexually abusing children. Francis Sullivan from the Truth, Justice and Healing Council fought back tears as he revealed these numbers today in front of Royal commission, reminding those there that each number represent a child, a victim of someone who they should of cared for, and protected them.
The home of Cardinal George "I know too much" Pell, the Vatican, has again refused to release any records regarding Catholic priests embroiled in these disgusting cases, stating that it is“neither possible nor appropriate to provide the information requested”. The Royal commission is slated to continue for another 3 weeks with nearly all of Australia's Arch-Bishops expected to give evidence to the commission. If this much horrifying information can come out after the first day, what can we expect during the coming weeks?
